Leave a Legacy
Certain milestones like marriage, the birth of a child, an important birthday or retirement from active work will cause you to pause and ask yourself, "What is my legacy?"
When all is said and done, your ultimate legacy - your impact on the world - will be reflected in the totality of the life you lived and the treasures you leave behind to help others.
You have spent your life dedicated to family, career, faith and community. You have demonstrated virtues like honesty and integrity, and you have shared values, skills and wisdom that will continue to influence the next generation. It’s time to make sure that the things you love and care about will continue to be taken care of in the future.
If you don’t have a will, now is a good time to think about it! A will guarantees that your financial assets are distributed according to your wishes. Without a will, you lose control over your belongings after death. Your property and finances are settled according to state laws, whether or not they coincide with your wishes. Consider designating The Aultman Foundation or other charitable organizations as a beneficiary in your will. It’s an easy way to make a meaningful gift without impacting your current budget.
In fact, many of the programs and services offered in the Aultman Deuble Heart & Vascular Center, Aultman Cancer Center and the Aultman Women’s Board Compassionate Care Center are possible because grateful patients, former employees and caring community members have included The Aultman Foundation in their legacy gift plan.
If you already have a will, take some time to review it. Make sure that it still accurately reflects your wishes. Amending your will to include a new charitable designation is a simple process that will have a lasting impact. Regardless of size, all gifts are vitally important to help advance the future work of the nonprofit organizations that you support today.
