"I am a five-year breast cancer survivor because I paid attention. Women have very good intuition. Pay attention to what you are feeling and your body. Everyone needs to connect with a doctor and speak openly about their health. I was fortunate to have my two doctors here at the Aultman Cancer Center – Dr. Shilad and Dr. Trehan – become so much more than just physicians. They have great compassion for their patients, and they do everything they can, every day. They are my champions!
My greatest strength is that cancer did not define me or slow me down. I still traveled and kept focused on living my life. My greatest hope is that a cure for cancer can be found. In the meantime, we all must stay optimistic and positive.
I love staying active and volunteer with many great organizations in Canton. I am a proud 40-YEAR member of the Aultman Women’s Board! I hope you can join us at this year’s Angels on the Runway-Fashion for a Cause-Fashion Evolution event Wednesday, Nov. 13. It is a spectacular night of fun and fashion. Proceeds benefit the Aultman Women’s Board Compassionate Care Center, supporting hospice and grief services and providing visiting nurses, social workers, nurse aides and counseling for loved ones during end-of-life care. For more information and to reserve your seat, visit aultmanfoundation.org or call 330.363.6198."
