Barbara Bennett
"This year, less than 30 days after my mother passed away, I received my third cancer diagnosis. The third time is NOT really a charm. But here it is, I have to face this journey again. I had Hodgkin lymphoma 22 years ago, breast cancer 2 years ago and now I have been diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. The doctors at Aultman and at Cleveland Clinic say I’m a special case. They also agree that treatment at Aultman isn’t anything different than what would be provided in Cleveland. Our community is blessed to have such great care and technology here at Aultman Hospital, as treatment in my hometown makes life so much easier on this journey.
I’m going to keep moving forward, living my life and always be mindful that each day and each person in my life is a blessing. My strength is my faith, my amazing husband and kids, extended family and friends, and most of all my desire to be here! Everyone has a journey, a hardship or a struggle. My journey is just on a little different path than others and I always tell people, “It’s manageable!” God bless you all!"
