Donor Spotlight: Progressive Auto Group

Corvette Inside Progressive Auto GroupWhen The Aultman Foundation was planning the “Win George’s Corvette” raffle with George and Kaleen Lemon to benefit the new Timken Family Cancer Center, Progressive Auto Group was eager to champion the cause as a sponsor.

Progressive Auto Group has a long-standing history of service to the community. Incorporated in 1937, Progressive has served Stark County for four generations. The family-owned business is the only new vehicle automobile dealer within Massillon city limits.

Today, brothers Craig and Tim Sanders continue the legacy of their great-grandfather and company founder, J.S. “Sandy” Sanders. Sandy was dubbed “Mr. Massillon” because of his dedication to the community and was recognized with many awards. The Massillon Chamber of Commerce named its “Award of Merit” after Mr. Sanders because of his long legacy of community service.

Progressive continues to give back through the Employee Civic Fund started by Sandy Sanders in the early 1950s. Over the past 10 years, the fund has raised more than $450,000 for the community. Additionally, Progressive has sponsored the Stark County Fair for over five years.

Progressive’s philanthropic focus and dealership expertise led to a great partnership for “Win George’s Corvette”. Craig Sanders explained, “I respect and appreciate what George and Kaleen Lemon do for this community. As a large Corvette and Chevrolet dealership, we loved having their Corvette on our showroom floor. Our employees were proud to be a part of this project.”

Craig shared that the community enjoyed visiting Progressive Chevrolet to admire the car. Progressive was thrilled to utilize their advertising expertise to promote “Win George’s Corvette”. Thank you, Progressive Auto Group, for being an integral part of this successful project.
